sorry to say this but it wasn’t really worth the wait. And way too short. But i still have faith.

Storyline is interesting. Cinematography is dope. Chick playing Semhal can actually act. The rest ( from all 3 episodes) do need lessons.

what the ……

I like the show so far. I know it’s only still developing, but the different backstories, especially of the disguised woman, seem a bit sloppy. So far, Semhar’s character development has been interesting, though her lines/mannerisms are kind of awkward and out of place. I look forward to seeing where this show goes!

I like the show, it is interesting. The controversy here is just the film title. Since Habesha life is vague, just incorporating the story line under this title just bug a lot of folks. Other than that you are doing great. You have to know it is you who is directing, writing the script and shooting. A lot of work goes into that (and that is a talent my man) and plus this is just an experiment so do your own thing boy. We will be behind you. It is people like you with great vision who will make it big someday in the future.

no criticism here. impressive.

The fact that this episode took a while to air brings confusing to the viewer as it is very hard to remember the previous episodes context so i am pretty confused and don’t really know what’s actually happening, basically am LOST!!!!!!!. For this to work i think the episodes need to air weekly. The fact i waited for so long and the episode is only like 11 minutes is beyond belief. But all in all good luck.

hmmm… where 2 start! i just came across this site maself too so yea one thing i can get off ma chest right away is that i’m glad i didn’t have to wait for as long as most of yall did for each episode to air. No offense it wouldn’t have been worth it not to say that it’s not good but the only reason i could follow the story and could see the progression in the writing and acting was because i watched all 3episodes back to back.
All in all it was a good start, peaked my interest to a certain extent could get very far with more collabration such as co-producers, assistant directors, sound crew, hair & makeup to go with each episode’s theme and maybe even a few experienced actors to further help the crew make this show even better….
at this point i don’t even know if you plan to make any more episodes but if you do plan it out well get your group together and shoot at least a whole season and have the season premier screened by professionals to get their feed back… Good luck!

Surprizing to know how differently ppl see how habesha lives in usa and try to generlize it in some imaginary show…I think the owner or the producer(or what ever u call him) needs to think outside of your circle. You could mix a bit of a real habesha life in the small clips you are trying to generate in the future

mimi on February 27, 2010 at 15:43

hey, i just wanted to say one thing…maybe this is the first Eritrean movie made in english, so maybe y’all should give them some good mottive so that they can produce some more of this kind of movies…

sam on March 19, 2010 at 19:44

yo. really liked the storyline, cinematography. cleverly in black-white probably considering the budget. nice score. but i had to waite damn long man. + is this how it ends? no sequels and stuff. you guys taking cliffhanger way too literally.

Lyfe1is on March 23, 2010 at 4:10

Well done. Don’t listen to all the hate- frankly I’m surprised that people would post such unnecessary garbage poorly disguised as constructive criticism. You’ve got your work cut out for you but its clear you’re on the right track.

Keep ya head up, keep doing you and we’ll keep watching.

peace
